In general, the Spanish have a very friendly and open attitude towards children. They are welcome almost everywhere – in restaurants, at public events, festivals or celebrations. They are treated kindly on the streets, where they are often met with smiles and kind words from random passers-by. Public children’s playgrounds in the locality are excellently equipped, most of them include some kind of water feature and places with shade. Both small children and older schoolchildren will find fun on most playgrounds. It is not an exception that outdoor is also a part of them gym for adults.

Andalusia also offers a wide range of schools, including international ones, which provide quality education in different languages. Having a second home in Spain is thus an ideal opportunity to broaden your children’s horizons. They will get to know a new culture, a different mentality and lifestyle, but above all they will learn Spanish (also English at international schools). High-quality language education is an inherent advantage for further life.

Leave the coats in Slovakia
You may see a coat or jacket here and there in shops on the southern coast of Spain, but it is definitely not a mandatory wardrobe item.
In December and January, you can be outside on the Costa del Sol in a sweater or sweatshirt. More warmer layers are usually not necessary. And a hat or gloves are more of a fashion accessory.

The Costa del Sol has a stable, pleasant climate all year round. In winter, it is around 16 °C during the day and the temperature does not drop below 8 °C at night. If the weather is good, it is not an exception that you can swim in the sea even on Christmas Day. It is not for long sunbathing, but it can become a pleasant tradition.

On the Costa del Sol, life does not stop even in winter. Even in colder seasons, the Spanish do not forget to celebrate properly. Christmas is one of the most important holidays. Malaga’s main business district, just a few steps from the Muelle port Uno, with its many luxurious restaurants, lights up a lot during this period.
